The Role: We currently have an exciting opportunity for two apprentices to commence an Apprenticeship in Aircraft Maintenance Engineering. Based at RFDS hangars in either Mount Isa or Charleville, applicants who live in rural or remote areas are encouraged to apply and should be mechanically minded and fascinated by how and why aircraft operate. As an Aircraft Maintenance Engineer with Hawker Pacific you will complete study to attain Certificate III or IV in Aeroskills while based in Cairns or Brisbane. Once you possess the necessary skills you will be relocated to Mount Isa or Charleville to work at an RFDS Base on their clinic and life-saving aeromedical aircraft with guidance from Hawker Pacific engineers. Based at one of the Flying Doctor’s oldest bases, every day you will be ensuring RFDS can continue to provide the finest care to the furthest corner in Queensland. Their fleet of 19 aircraft need to be able to respond to any emergency, running a 24-hour service, 365 days a year and you will be part of the engineering team responsible in making sure their aircraft are ready and able to assist.
