Hawker Pacific, leading aircraft sales and product support company in Asia, Pacific and the Middle East, has welcomed Diamond Aircraft’s latest introduction of the Advanced Airline Trainer (ATT) concept for the DA40 aircraft, which will better transition pilot training platforms to real aircraft environments.
According to Diamond, the program was developed as a reaction to pilot training requirements where students need to operate new generations of aircraft at a high level in the early ‘Ab Initio’ training phase. The ATT enables an actual aircraft to be used in training, and initiates airlinespecific operational concepts and technologies to make overall training times much more efficient.
Tony Jones, Hawker Pacific’s Senior Vice President, Aircraft Sales and Flight Services Group said: “The ATT allows student pilots to have access to, and experience, the sophisticated environment of current and future aircraft from the earliest stages of their training – a much desired innovation for pilot education. This system is not just great for training schools and new pilots – the entire industry benefits because it takes steps to make pilot training processes better than what they were.”
“Diamond Aircraft is a great innovator and this development further enhances that proud tradition. The broad acceptance of the Diamond aircraft with training schools in Australia and Asia has been phenomenal and is no surprise as their aircraft and supporting solutions, such as the ATT, continue to become more and more desired in the segment.”
The ATT was unveiled at the recent Aero Friedrichshafen 2013 and uses the standard operating procedures for transport category aircraft. It includes mounts for tablet-based electronic flight bags for student and instructor along with a state-of-the-art panel. It is now shown on the DA -40NG but will soon be available for the entire Diamond production line.
