We are in a rapid growth phase and we are currently seeking applications from suitably qualified and experienced candidates for a Technical Officer (either Avionics or Structures) role based in our offices in East Sale, Victoria, supporting our ADF Military Design Organisation (MDO) activities. This role will require occasional interstate travel. The Role: These roles sit within Hawker Pacific's Special Missions business unit which provides aircraft design and project management services locally and internationally. We specialise in special mission fit-outs (fixed and rotary wing, civil, paramilitary and military), airline reconfigurations (including B737, B747, B767 and A320), and Government agency fleet services and in-service support. In one of these roles you will provide ongoing engineering and customer support to our Defence and civil aviation customers, and you will primarily work across developing, designing and reviewing designs for aircraft repairs and modifications. You will have the autonomy to work independently, as well as part of an experienced and dedicated team, ensuring work is completed to schedule and delivered in-line with company requirements.
Your skills and experience: Relevant engineering degree or diploma in Aeronautical, Aerospace, Mechanical or Electrical / Electronic (Avionics) Engineering (essential). Extensive aircraft design experience (post-graduation) in a civil and/or military environment with a demonstrated ability to solve complex engineering problems with minimum direction and/or supervision. Specific Responsibilities: Engineering design within the scope of delegated authorisation and in-line with regulatory design standards and Company policies and procedures. Development, review and approval of documentation for design certification and demonstration of compliance. Supervise and/or develop detailed drawings, tools, quantities, material lists and cost estimates, ensuring compliance and adherence to agreed specifications. The Role: Expressions of interest are invited from suitably qualified and experienced rotary wing Licenced Aircraft Maintenance Engineers (LAMEs) looking for a new opportunity to join a small and growing team. The role would be located at our Maintenance Repair and Overhaul (MRO) service centre facility at Bankstown Airport, and would be reporting to the Hangar Operations Coordinator. The Bankstown MRO is a Bell Helicopter approved service centre. Our Rotary Wing team work across a wide variety of projects including component overhaul, aircraft refurbishment, heavy maintenance, scheduled maintenance, modification and mission equipment installation as well as field maintenance from time to time.

Type specific training will be available for the right candidate, which may include corporate jet training. Our Engineers work from 7:15am to 3:45pm Monday to Friday with RDOs, and overtime as required. Engineering Internship

The Role: Hawker Pacific Special Missions (HPSM) provides aircraft design, design certification and project management services locally and internationally, specialising in Special Mission fit-outs (fixed and rotary wing, civil, military and paramilitary), airline reconfigurations (including B737, B747, B767 and A320, etc.) and Government agency fleet services and in-service support. HPSM provides annual Internship / Industrial Placement opportunities to Aeronautical / Aerospace / Avionics / Electrical Engineering students in their 3rd year (penultimate year). These opportunities are generally made available for 3 to 4 months each year, from approximately November to February. Our Internships are designed to offer students a period of practical experience in the aviation industry dealing with ‘real world’ design problems on a range of aircraft. If successful you will be located in our design office in Bankstown Airport NSW, and assigned to an experienced design engineer who will closely mentor and guide you throughout the internship period.
