Hawker Pacific Sights Strong Growth in Contracted Special Mission Programs

Hawker Pacific looks to Asia and the Middle East for Future Opportunities

Sydney, Australia, 1 February 2018 - Hawker Pacific, the leading aviation solutions provider in Asia, Pacific and the Middle East, have today announced strong growth in their Turn-Key Special Mission contracted programs to military, paramilitary, and civil agency special mission operators.

Celebrating 40 years of operation in 2018, Hawker Pacific Chief Operating Officer, Mr. Doug Park, has identified Asia and the Middle East as the two regions showing the greatest potential for this type of cost effective performance-based contract model.

“Hawker Pacific has been delivering our unique Hybrid AirworthinessTM support model to Special Mission operators for in excess of 30 years. We can manage every element of what can be a very complex life cycle of processes starting with assisting with the development of a Concept of Operations (ConOps) (if required) which leads into the identification and sourcing of the most suitable fixed or rotary wing platform and associated special mission equipment, then modifying the aircraft to the customer’s specific role requirements.

Hawker Pacific will manage the through-life maintenance including inventory holdings and deliver a guaranteed on-line availability rate exceeding 85%. We can even provide aircrew and access to Hawker Pacific’s Air Operators Certificates where required, as well as sovereign leasing should finance be required,” said Mr Park.

“As Hawker Pacific is well-versed in the development and delivery of Special Mission solutions including being conversant with the most technologically advanced systems capabilities currently available, this know-how coupled with the ability to extract twice the average annual flying hours per aircraft tail number (when compared to the traditional military operating and support model), straight away translates to being able to deliver more capability with half the number of operating aircraft. Do the numbers on that and you will see the savings,” he went on to say.

“With the ever increasing expectation to do more with less in relation to budgets, this is a key efficiency gain,” added Mr. Park. Hawker Pacific provides cost-effective maintenance and tailored support solutions to many key operators in the Asia and Pacific regions including; the Republic of Singapore Air Force, Royal Malaysian Police, Royal Australian Air Force, Royal New Zealand Air Force, Defence Science and Technology Group (Australia) and the Royal Flying Doctor Service of Australia.

“Our strong growth in contracted through-life support programs can be attributed to our successful performance-based approach and that is because the outcomes achieved are contracted commitments that we deliver against. The trust that is built between Hawker Pacific and the client allows them to focus on their core operational imperatives,” Doug said.

“There is extensive work behind the scenes in being able to place a serviceable Special Mission equipped aircraft on-line to perform the customer’s specific operational needs. Hawker Pacific’s Special Mission design engineering group has the responsibility for Project Managing the most intricate of programs as well as performing every step in the process and that enables us to deliver on time, on budget” concluded Mr. Park.

Hawker Pacific’s network of modification facilities include a specialist CNC / computerised machining and composite shop, and an avionics design, manufacturing and installation capability. This is coupled to a network of in-house modification and maintenance support facilities scattered throughout Asia, the Pacific and Middle East, so we can do it all in-house, which gives us better transparency and control and also means you are never too far from a Hawker Pacific facility and “Aviation’s Trusted Choice”.
